What You Need to Know about the Fall Fair
Advance, discounted activity tickets are still available; and we have several updates for this year detailed below. We expect a big crowd at the Fair, so please leave dogs at home for this event. Extended families, friends, and neighbors are more than welcome—share the Facebook event so help us get out the word!
Plan Ahead for Parking
The best place to park for the Fall Fair will be Life Community Church. There will be a Fall Fair shuttle bus running between campus and the church parking lot. The shuttle will begin running from the lots headed for campus at 10:45 a.m. and the last shuttle leaves campus at 3:30 p.m. (Life Community Church Alexandria, 3500 Franconia Road. Entrances on Norton and Franconia Roads.)
Call for Volunteers
We ask each of our current parents as well as our Middle School students to donate at least one hour of time at the Fall Fair to ensure it is fun and successful for everyone.
Thanks to all who have already signed up. Volunteer slots have been filled completely for some activities. We still have many slots that need to be filled. Please feel free to sign up in multiple areas if you are available. Greatest areas of need are Food Tent, Face Painting, and the Obstacle Course. (Note: The Obstacle Course has a separate sign-up here.)
Item Donation Reminders
We depend on Burgundy parents and friends to donate the following:
Kids Closet: Gently used kids’ clothes and toys. We cannot accept electronics, car seats, helmets, pajamas, bathing suits or underwear.
Used Book Sale: Children’s books of all types; adult fiction, and adult non-fiction in these categories: cookbooks, travel (2010 to now), art/coffee table books, self-help/parenting. Media, including CDs of audible books or music, and family friendly DVDs. (We cannot accept VHS and cassette tapes, encyclopedias, textbooks or damaged books.)
Games: Gently used/new stuffed animals for a game called Adopt-a-Pet.
Donation drop off ends Friday, October 18. Bring all donations to The Logan Loft porch. We are happy to provide a receipt for tax deductions and this is a great opportunity to clean out your closets, attic, or basement!
Bake Sale: We’d love to add your homemade goodies to the Bake Sale. Looking for a family activity? Kids love to bake and decorate. Many baked goods freeze well, so it’s not too soon to get started. Questions? Contact Bake Sale Chair Rebecca Signer Roche. We sell individually packaged nut-free cookies, cupcakes, brownies and other goodies. We will handle pricing, and we encourage festive decorations! Please label and identify your sweets.
Donation drop off on Thursday and Friday, October 17 and 18. Bring baked goods to The Logan Loft kitchenette. You can also bring them directly to the Bake Sale on the day of the Fair.
