In November, our eighth graders took part in the iFLY STEM Program for Middle School. In addition to being a ton of fun, the program aims to increase awareness of exciting STEM careers and give students an opportunity to see real-life applications of STEM principles. Through the activities students:

  • Understand the nature of fluids and how they exert forces on solid objects.
  • Use algebraic thinking to understand proportional relationships.
  • Use decimal, scientific notation, and unit conversions to do calculations.
  • Graph and interpret results.
  • Understand variability, uncertainty, and error in experimental results.

It’s always a highlight of the school year!
