7th Grade Perfect One-Acts of Drama
Hello everybody, Alejandra from cohort 7B here! Every year the seventh grade performs only one consistent play. But, because of covid-19, this year was different. EJ created a slideshow presentation and gave options for 7th grade One-Acts and we voted on which three different One-Acts we actually wanted to perform. 7A performed Disaster Heist, the 7B ended up performing Bad Auditions by Bad Actors, and finally, the 7C performed, So you Wanna be a Cheerleader? This was a great opportunity to get a glimpse into the One-Act side of drama and theater. We practiced fast comedy, projection, and teamwork rehearsing. Because we were masked we had to work even harder as a cohort to project and build up the strength of our lines. We practiced utilizing fast comedy in order to make it more accurate to the circumstances we face every day. This was such a fun and different experience!
A word from EJ:
In a year of such uncertainty, the 7th-grade class was eager to present some silly stories. From a casino heist that goes wrong to the crazy characters auditioning for Romeo & Juliet, and finally the fact that everyone may want to be a cheerleader, but, not if the zombies are coming! I am very proud of the 7th grade class of 2022 for embodying the theatre motto “The Show Must Go On!” Congratulations on keeping theatre alive!
