Dr. Wayne Jonas, a career physician and healer, is a former member of Burgundy’s Board of Trustees; parent of alumni Chris '96, Maeba '98, and Emily (EJ) '03; and a guest speaker for American Indian education and activism. He is publishing a book on a new approach to injury, illness, and wellness. How Healing Works will be available January 9, and he will be reading from and signing copies of the book at the Politics & Prose at The Wharf in Southwest DC on January 11.
In August we wrote to families sharing that mid-year we likely would be entering into a search this winter for a permanent Middle School Head. We began that national search just before the holiday break, have received strong interest already, and are convening a faculty/staff hiring advisory committee to assist in identifying finalists. Burgundy’s Girls on the Run completed a 5K race, at the end of their fall program. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls practiced on our Alexandria campus and had their 5K in Woodbridge on December 2.
