Last week, on the heels of the good (though precipitous!) news on May 15 from the CDC, we announced that any shifts in our own policies and procedures would not be immediate and would be eased in with more preparation. Instead, with nearly all of our students still unvaccinated, we will hold onto our protocols, prioritizing safety and finishing the remarkable year we’ve managed to have under difficult circumstances. We will continue through late spring and summer to evaluate our protocols and to adjust the Social Contract as necessary. We will review new guidance that continues to surface during the summer camps and sports season and consult with our medical experts and our health and safety and risk committees as appropriate. As always we’ll proceed with due caution, with the operative metaphor being more a dimmer switch than an on/off switch.
