Holiday Baskets for Koinonia

Dec 14, 2018

Middle School students collected the food, and then assembled, wrapped and decorated 24 beautiful holiday baskets to be distributed to the clients of Koinonia on Franconia Road. Each basket is designed to provide the makings of a festive holiday dinner for a family of four. We solicited donations of non-perishable food items and gift cards (or cash to buy them) for perishable foods at the Giant at Alexandria Commons on December 2.

Under direction of “Wrap Master,” Cathy Guertin, students sorted the food and made sure that every basket contained the required items, then wrapped the baskets, attached ribbons, decorations and notes, as well as one of the gift cards to each basket.

Completed baskets were designed to look like beautiful hostess gifts rather than as “handouts.” Baskets will be brought to Koinonia on Monday morning, December 17 for delivery in time for the holidays!

Spring Sports Recap from Jerad

Our spring teams have become more competitive; the teamwork throughout the school day and during games is beautiful to see, and the leadership from our 8th graders has been phenomenal.

Burgundy is a one-of-a-kind independent school for Junior Kindergarten through 8th Grade. We believe children learn best in an inclusive, creative, and nurturing environment that engages the whole child.
