Fall Sports Start Monday!
Get ready to cheer on all of the Burgundy Blazers teams during games at home and at other area schools!
Fall sports at Burgundy are soccer, cross country, and volleyball. Soccer starts next week, with a home game for JV on Monday, September 18, at 3:45 p.m. and a home game for varsity on Thursday, September 21, at 4 p.m. Access the field by the path through the woods between the Middle School building and parking lot. Cross country has a home meet Monday, September 25, 3:45 p.m. Please note that during this cross country meet, 3:45-5 p.m., vehicle access to campus will be restricted for runners' safety. This year, JV sports include 5th and 6th grade student athletes, while varsity teams are 7th and 8th graders. Soccer teams are coed. Cross country has a boys and girls team; they practice together but run separately during meets. Volleyball is a girls team. Bethany (Sindy) McCoy, Burgundy's new athletic director and PE teacher, is coaching varsity soccer while alum Jon Ustun '75 returns to coach JV soccer. Teacher and coach Ivana Bulirova returns to lead the cross country teams while returning drama teacher and coach Emily "EJ" Jonas '03 will coach volleyball.
