The part-time visual arts teacher will instruct 6th-8th grade students in 2D and 3D art. The successful candidate will have experience teaching art at the upper elementary or middle school level. Additionally, the role requires experience in teaching a wide range of different artistic media, including drawing, painting, and ceramics. Strong classroom management skills and a systematic approach are necessary to ensure the art room is well-organized, conducive to learning, and a fun atmosphere for artistic exploration. Experience working in a diverse school setting is highly preferred. This position reports directly to the Middle School Head.
Hours:
- This position is part-time at approximately 10-12 hours per week (the school is doing schedule revisions and should have a more specific sense of hours by late April). There are a few before and after school responsibilities and weekend events, which are announced well in advance.
- The School is closed for most national holidays, as well as Winter and Spring Break.
- Pay is for days worked only, and this part-time position is not eligible for benefits.
