Long-Term Sub for Middle School Humanities/Math

Position Description:

This role combines several part-time positions into a full-day sub role. A third of the role is teaching 6th-grade math, another third is team-teaching some 7th and 8th-grade humanities, and the final third is pushing in as a math and science resource teacher. The approximate allocation is: 5 periods of math per week, 5 periods of humanities, and about 8 push-in math/science support classes as a second teacher.

While the position responsibilities span a variety of subject areas, the successful candidate will have ample teacher and admin support to understand and carry out the specifics of the job.

The qualified candidate will have:

A genuine love of learning and a desire to work with Middle School students
Strength in understanding and teaching 6th-grade mathematics
Strength in understanding and teaching humanities (ELA and Social Studies)
A collaborative spirit; interest in team-teaching and planning
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to differentiate for varying learning styles and abilities
Demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusivity
Interest in outdoor, hands-on, and environmental education

Details and Hours:

This position is a long-term sub role, running from March 16th through May 29th.
Hours are 8:00 am – 3:45 pm.
There are a few recess and lunch duties as part of this role.
