Substitute Teacher

We are currently seeking substitute teachers for the 2025-26 school year.

About our School

Burgundy Farm Country Day School is a progressive, coed day school on a pastoral 25-acre campus near Alexandria, Virginia. We serve 270 children in junior kindergarten through 8th grade. Burgundy believes children learn best in an inclusive, creative and nurturing environment that engages the whole child. Our innovative, hands-on approach to education cultivates independent thinking, promotes academic excellence, instills respect for diversity, and teaches responsibility for self, for others, and for the natural world. The qualified candidate will have:

  • Genuine love of learning and desire to work with children as a facilitator of learning
  • Collaborative spirit, flexibility, and professionalism
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage a positive classroom environment
  • Commitment to teaching in a diverse community
  • Interest in outdoor, hands-on, and environmental education
  • Teaching experience and a related degree are preferred. 

Compensation: $75/half day and $125/full day
