Burgundy's 2019 Auction is Saturday, March 2, 2019.
The auction is our school's primary fundraiser—all proceeds benefit financial aid, which helps one in four Burgundy students. The adults-only evening will include a delicious catered dinner, drinks, mingling with friends, and of course, wonderful auction items! The 2019 Auction Catalog: Coming Soon!
The Annual Auction is Burgundy's major fundraising event and supports financial aid. One in four students receives financial aid to attend Burgundy. The auction features a cocktail reception, dinner, dessert and coffee, music, raffles, and both a live and silent auction.
Current parents, alumni parents, and alumni generously donate and/or obtain donated auction items from other individuals, businesses and organizations. The silent and live auctions allow parents to bid on class projects, parent donations, business services and vacation packages. A wide range of types and values for auction items offer opportunities for community members to bid and accommodates all pocketbooks. This is a fun and exciting evening for Burgundy parents and guests!

Raffle Tickets and Bundles
This year’s Burgundy Raffle has three wonderful offerings. Tickets are one for $15, three for $25 and 10 for $75. The drawing will be at the auction on March 2. You do not need to be present at the Auction to win.

Nationals Baseball for Four:
Four terrific seats for a mutually agreed upon date during the 2019 season. Club level seating in Section 215, Row B, seats 5-8. Donated by Seileen Mullen and Martin, Blanck & Assoc.
Evening at the Anthem and Bluejacket:
The Anthem is the latest entertainment venue on the DC waterfront. Look at all the concerts options available and choose a show there with a $250 Live Nation gift card. Also included is a $150 gift card for Neighborhood Restaurant Group. Among their many options is the brewery Bluejacket, with its in-house restaurant The Arsenal, located at the nearby Navy Yard. These raffle tickets cost $50 each. Here's how it works: Moments before the Live Auction beings, we will draw the winning ticket. The winner may choose any live Auction item, and walk away with it, without bidding, and for no additional fees! That item will no longer be a part of the Live Auction. You do not have to be present to win.
Even if you plan to attend the Auction, you must let us know which of the Live Auction items you would choose if you should be the winner just in case an emergency arises and you cannot attend. Class Creations for the 2019 Auction
Class Creations are individual projects that students make in their classrooms. Guided by parent class designers, the projects often reflect a memory for the year or focus on a topic of study. Prices vary and they may be offered at rate of one per family or multiples available. They will be available for purchase along with tickets to the event at the time of registration.
101 Junior Kindergarten Ceramic Platter
Each JK Chick created a colorful fingerprint painting of the Burgundy barn in the center of a 13” x 9” white platter. Fingerprints of each Chick student encircle the edge. The finished product is for decoration only. $35 each. One order per family.
102 Kindergarten Foxes Sun, Moon, and Stars Wind Chime
The Kindergarten Foxes have engaged as space explorers in the classroom and now present a memory of their out of this world study. Each child will decorate six ceramic chimes, which will be hung on sticks they found on their explorations in the woods. $30 each. One order per family.
103 Kindergarten Frogs Custom Handprint Glass Plate
With the assistance of our pottery enrichment teacher, each Frog student painted a colorful and unique glass plate, with his or her handprint as a focal point. $40 each. One order per family.
104 1st Grade Goats Ceramic Photo Tile
Custom ceramic photo tiles created by each Goat student to treasure. The 4” x 4” tiles are framed and can be hung anywhere in your home. $20 each. One order per family.
105 1st Grade Sheep Framed Watercolor Portrait
Using portrait photos taken by teacher Joseph Edwards as a starting point, each student created colorful watercolor portraits of themselves. Each portrait is framed in a custom-made frame. $40 each. One order per family
106 2/3 Buckeyes “More Energy” Canvas
The class creation for the Buckeyes is full of energy and art. Based on the study of energy in science class, the portrait printed on canvas features each student as they go down a slide or jump off a box. $35 each. One order per family.
107 2/3 Viceroys Personalized Resin Paperweight
Each Viceroys student chose decorations and treasures from the natural world and used them to create a lovely paperweight. A lasting memory of the 2018-2019 school year. $25 each. One per family.
108 4/5 Coopers and Redtails Abstract Goals and Dreams Canvas
In a joint effort, the Coopers joined the Redtails students in reaching for the stars by creating unique abstract art to display their goals and dreams for 2019. Each student created a 12” x 16” masterpiece using paint, and decoupage of tissue paper cutouts with word art. Canvas also includes a 4” x 4” portrait of student. $30 each. One canvas per family.

In a joint effort, the Redtails joined the Coopers in reaching for the stars by creating unique abstract art to display their goals and dreams for 2019. 110 6th Grade Words with Portraits Photo
Burgundy’s newest middle schoolers believe in the power of words. Students chose words and then formed groups to visually represent this word together. The resulting photos pay homage to their friendships and Burgundy’s campus; they are beautifully framed. $35 each. One order per family.
111 7th Grade Cartoon Portrait
The 7th Grade will offer street-fair-style ‘cartoon portraits’ of each student, depicted with some mementos of their current life experience (sport, hobby, or interest). The 11” x 13” ‘snapshot’ of students is a result of quick sketches done by a visiting professional artist. $40 each. One per family.
112 8th Grade Photo Memory Book
A book celebrating students of the class from JK to 8th grade, interspersed with written and drawn memories from each year. A wonderful memento for the class of 2019 and their families. $40 each. Multiples copies available.
